The Ultra modern Aliko Dangote office complex of the University of Ibadan (UISB) donated by Aliko Dangote Foundation was commissioned with great fanfare on Wednesday, 25 July, 2018 at the Ajibode site of the Business School.

According to the Director of the Business School, Prof. Adenike Osofisan, the office complex which is the first for the UISB could not have come at a more critical time as it would make the training and retraining of business managers for greater efficiency much easier, thus contributing to the repositioning of our Economy as a nation.

The team comprising two fundraising experts and consultants, Simon Pennington and Jennie Moules and the Programmes and Membership Manager (Africa) from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, CASE, Pat Onoapoi, were in Ibadan for an On Campus Training in Educational Fundraising.

The two-day training programme saw the visiting team meeting Principal Officers of the University, Staff of Advancement Centre and other key officers of the University whose roles are relevant to the development of educational advancement at the University of Ibadan.

Dr. David-Borha took this position while delivering a lecture during the 2016 Annual Alumni Lecture of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association, at the University of Ibadan.

The Governing Council of the University of Ibadan has appointed Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka as the 12th Vice Chancellor with effect from 01 December, 2015. He succeeds Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole whose tenure as VC ends as of that date.

Announcing the appointment at a well attended and historical press conference in the Senate Chamber of the institution on Wednesday, 9 September, the pro chancellor and chairman of council, Dr. Umar Musa Mustapha said the new VC, a world-class geologist, is the first person from the Faculty of Science and the Department of Geology to be appointed as VC since the University was established in 1948.

The Management, staff and students of the University of Ibadan deeply regret to announce the death of the foremost diplomat and outstanding alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye. Prof Adefuye was until his death, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America, a position which he assumed in March 2010.

He was 68 at death.
